All game developers strive for their projects to be appreciated by as many people as possible, but game designer and creator of Metal Gear Hideo Kojima thinks more broadly and is already looking far into the future.
Kojima shared his thoughts about the legacy of his creators during a question and answer session organized by the Japanese publication Anan News, excerpts from which were provided by the Automaton portal.
According to Kojima, game developers should strive to release products for which they will not be ashamed in the distant future, as is the case with paintings painted 100 or 200 years ago.

Gamers can already see the perception of Kojima’s games changing over the years. Nowadays, MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, 20 years later, is considered a masterpiece of postmodernism, although at its release in 2001, fans openly ridiculed the image of Raiden.
However, this is not the first time Kojima has said “out of this world.” In the past, the game designer stated that he wanted to “fly into outer space and create a game that you can play in space.”
Currently, Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions are busy with the courier action game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PS5 and the horror OD for Xbox, and after DS2 he will take on the “next generation spy action movie” Physint.
