The Xbox Series S turned out to be the weakest console of the current generation among devices from Microsoft and Sony, but some developers have not yet lost the habit of turning technical limitations into new opportunities.

Warhorse Studios PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling recently spoke about the impact of the Xbox Series S on the optimization process of the medieval open-world action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
According to Stolz-Zwilling, optimizing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for the Xbox Series S has “greatly helped” the Warhorse team with improving the game’s performance on other target platforms.
Due to the Xbox Series S’ lower power compared to other current-gen consoles, developers had to make compromises and get creative to find ways to save memory.

It’s worth noting that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has earned high marks from critics (88% on Metacritic) and regular users (90% on Steam), not least due to its decent optimization at release.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released on February 4 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and will be released on GOG in the spring. The game paid for itself on the first day after release and has already sold over 1 million copies.
