Swedish indie studio YCJY Games (Post Void, The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human), consisting of only two employees, has announced the release date of Keep Driving, a nostalgic RPG about traveling across the country.
Let us remind you that Keep Driving has been in development for several years, but was fully introduced only last fall. At the time of the announcement, the creators did not even plan an approximate release date for the game.
As it became known, we won’t have to wait long to get on the road. Keep Driving will go on sale on February 6th exclusively on Steam. The accompanying trailer features the song Wake Up by the Swedish band Holy Now.
The developers also said that more than 100 thousand people tried the demo version available on the Keep Driving page on Steam, and more than 170 thousand people added the game itself to their wishlist.
Keep Driving takes place in the early 2000s. The hero has just bought his first car and is heading to the other end of the country for an exciting festival. How exactly he gets to the goal (and whether he gets there at all) depends on the player.
You’ll have to navigate your way through a procedurally generated open world, pick up a variety of travel companions (each with a unique personality and story), and upgrade, personalize, and repair your car.
They promise a nostalgic setting, a turn-based “combat” system for solving problems that arise along the way, down-to-earth pixel art, multiple endings and a soundtrack with songs from Swedish indie bands. English only.
