Instead of GTA VI: GTA V and GTA Online on PC will still add improvements from PS5, Xbox Series X and S

When Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online came out on current-gen consoles in March 2022, they received a number of improvements that still haven’t made it to PC. However, this will soon change.

Developers from the Rockstar Games studio, in a publication dedicated to the December update of GTA Online, mentioned plans for 2025, which include something that PC players have been wanting to hear about for more than two years.

«“In addition, next year we plan to fulfill your long-standing desire and add special GTA Online features on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for PC users,” Rockstar intrigues.

Rockstar did not specify what kind of “special features” with PS5, Xbox Series X and S we are talking about, but GTA V and GTA Online on these consoles, among other things, received ray tracing (shadows, reflections) and improved anti-aliasing.

In the comments on the ResetEra forum they joke that in this way Rockstar wants to compensate PC players for the absence of GTA VI – the release of the new part is announced for next fall in versions for PS5, Xbox Series X and S.

As for the December update to GTA Online, it will add “exciting and strategic heists”, additional law enforcement missions, vehicles, expanded features for the case editor and gameplay improvements.

GTA V and GTA Online were released in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and subsequently appeared on PS4 and Xbox One (November 2014), PC (April 2015), PS5 and Xbox Series X and S (March 2022 ). In 2024, sales of the game exceeded 200 million copies.
