Let us recall that recently insider Nate the Hate and the portal Video Games Chronicle claimed that the announcement and release of the updated The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will take place in April (possibly even at the same time).
Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, speaking on The Power Block on April 7, cited his sources as saying that the Oblivion remake could be released “at any moment” without prior announcement.
Grubb couldn’t say at what point in April this might happen. Nate the Hate recently clarified on his microblog that news about the Oblivion remake should be expected in the second half of the month.
It was previously reported that the modernized The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is being created by Virtuos studio on Unreal Engine 5 – it is used for new graphics, and the original Gamebryo engine is responsible for gameplay and physics.
MP1st reported in January that the remake would see improvements to at least six systems: blocking, stamina, stealth, archery, damage response, and the interface.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion debuted on March 20, 2006, on PC and Xbox 360. In addition to the official remake, an unofficial one is also being prepared for release in 2025 – it is called Skyblivion and is a mod on the Skyrim engine.
