Post-nuclear survival RPG Atomfall from Rebellion Developments (Sniper Elite series) failed to win over critics, but managed to show the best start in the 32-year history of the British studio.

As Rebellion reported in a new press release, Atomfall has reached over 1.5 million players since its premiere last week. This figure is not equal to sales, as the project is also available through a Game Pass subscription.
Atomfall users have recorded 3.7 million kills with a cricket bat, 4 million pies eaten, 300,000 cups of tea drunk, and 316,000 gamers dealt with the scientist at the very beginning of the game.

Rebellion co-founder and CEO Jason Kingsley said reaching a million players in such a short period of time “speaks volumes about the creativity and dedication” of the team.
«”The size and stability [of our studio] allows us to take risks and create something different like Atomfall. Fortunately, those risks have paid off,” Kingsley said.

Set in the Cumbrian Exclusion Zone five years after the Sellafield nuclear accident in Windscale, Atomfall challenges players to uncover the secrets of what happened in 1957.
Atomfall was released on March 27 on PC (Steam, EGS, Microsoft Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. The game has “mostly positive” reviews on Steam (with a 75% rating) and 73-75% on Metacritic.
