As a reminder, Half-Life 2 RTX is the “most comprehensive graphical remaster” of Valve’s shooter based on the RTX Remix platform. Modders have updated textures, models, particles, and lighting, while leaving the gameplay unchanged.
The demo version allows you to evaluate two transformed locations – the zombie-infested abandoned city of Ravenholm from the level “We don’t go to Ravenholm…” and the maximum security prison “Nova Prospekt” from the chapter of the same name.
To run the Half-Life 2 RTX demo, you’ll need a processor no worse than an Intel Core i7-8600, a graphics card on the level of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and 50 GB of free SSD space.
The Half-Life 2 RTX demo system requirements are listed below:
Minimum requirements (1080p, 30 fps, low graphics settings, DLSS enabled)
Recommended Requirements (1080p, 60 fps, high graphics settings, DLSS enabled)
Requirements “Ultra” (4K, 144 fps, graphics settings “Ultra”, DLSS enabled)
As for optimal graphics settings, Nvidia has prepared them for a wide range of video cards: from RTX 3060 Ti to RTX 5090. The specifications are presented in the form of tables for resolutions of 1080p, 1440p and 4K (see the gallery above).
Half-Life 2 RTX is positioned as a free add-on for all owners of the original Half-Life 2. The ambitious re-release still has no release date at this stage.
