On the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, developers from the GSC Game World studio turned to players with information about their plans for 2025 regarding the series of post-apocalyptic shooters S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Firstly, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., released in November. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has already received several patches, including a particularly large one (110 GB) earlier this week, but GSC is not going to stop there.
The studio will continue to update and improve S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and is also preparing to present users with a plan for the further development of the game – this should happen in early 2025.
Apparently GSC is going to talk about further fixes to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and potentially new content – two paid additions are still planned for the project.
Secondly, the collection S.T.A.L.K.E.R., running on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, is backwards compatible. Legends of the Zone Trilogy will receive full versions for these consoles by the end of 2025. For now, the trilogy is available on PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
Thirdly, due to popular demand from fans, GSC will update the PC versions of the first three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. — Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. It is not specified when and what improvements to expect.
Previously, the GOG digital store added S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to its classic game preservation program. Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. In November it was reported that Clear Sky would soon be included in the initiative.
