Frostpunk 2 has already paid for itself and overtook the first part in sales in three days

Frostpunk 2, a frosty city-building strategy with survival elements, was released less than a week ago, and the developers from the Polish 11 bit studios already have something to brag about to users.

Let us remind you that for owners of the extended edition, Frostpunk 2 started on September 17, and the full release took place on the 20th on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store) and in the PC Game Pass service.

As it became known, in just three days from the full release, sales of Frostpunk 2 on PC exceeded 350 thousand copies. For comparison: the original Frostpunk reached 250 thousand units over a similar period of time.

The developers added that the projected (11 bit studios has not yet received payment) revenue from the initial sales of Frostpunk 2 has already covered the costs of production and promotion of the game.

«Thank you very, very much for all your support! She (almost) melted our frozen hearts. The work doesn’t end there: we are constantly working on patches and fixes, and your feedback is priceless,” the authors assured.

Frostpunk 2 developers’ critics’ ratings also did not disappoint

Frostpunk 2 earned a score of 86% on aggregator site Metacritic, and the game has “mostly positive” reviews on Steam (the rating is 71%). Users complain about game design and performance.

In terms of peak online, Frostpunk 2 on Steam has already surpassed the first part – 35.5 thousand players versus 29.3 thousand. The project will reach PS5, Xbox Series X, S and Xbox Game Pass later – when exactly is not specified.
