Thrown into the mouth of the Heihachi volcano after Tekken 7, Mishima, despite his “final” death, is preparing to debut in the newest game. The main antagonist of the entire series has received a gameplay trailer and release date for Tekken 8.
Let’s remember that Heihachi’s triumphant return from the dead was announced in July at the EVO 2024 tournament. The fighter, who survived cardiac arrest and a fall into a volcano, was supposed to join the list of Tekken 8 characters this fall.
As it became known, the addition with the fighter will be released on October 4, but Year 1 Pass buyers will have access to it on October 1. “Heihachi Mishima has finally been reborn,” proclaimed producer Katsuhiro Harada.
The new four-minute gameplay trailer showcases Heihachi Mishima’s moves in Tekken 8, as well as the reactions of characters including Kazuya Mishima (son) and Jin Kazama (grandson) to his incredible return.
«Did you think some kind of lava would kill me?” — Heihachi answers his son’s question with a question. “Come back when you’re ready to fight,” Mishima Sr. tells his grandson after slamming him into the ground.
With the start of early access to Heihachi for Tekken 8, a free update will be released with the story chapter Unforgotten Echoes, which introduces a new character to the game and hints at the future of the entire series.
Tekken 8 debuted on January 26 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S – sales have already exceeded 2 million copies. Heihachi will be the third fighter of the first season after Eddie Gordu and Lydia Sobieski (Prime Minister of Poland in the game).
