“Everything We’ve Talked About Is Still in Development”: Saber Interactive Reassures Fans Waiting for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Yesterday’s announcement of the action-adventure Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has some fans worried about other games in development at Saber Interactive, but according to the studio’s management, there’s nothing to worry about.

Creative director Tim Willits wanted to boast about the studio’s scope: “Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world. We work on a lot of games in a variety of genres.”

«”Everything we’ve talked about so far is still in development. We’ll share information about upcoming games when we have something cool to share,” Willits assured fans.

In total, with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber Interactive has eight major projects in development, and the one that raises the most questions is the remake of the cult role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

BioWare’s reimagining of the classic RPG was announced back in 2021. Since then, the project has changed developers and has been dubbed “dead as can be” by insiders, but as of last spring, it was still in production.

A new Painkiller from Saber has also been confirmed for 2021 (Image source: Steam)

In addition to Space Marine 3 and the KoTOR remake, the studio is making a new Painkiller, the shooter Turok: Origins, the action game Jurassic Park: Survival, the action film John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, AAA games based on Avatar: The Last Airbender and one of Hasbro’s franchises.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 is already in development, but it’s still a long way off from release. They promise to take the genre to a new level and deliver even more spectacular battles than last year’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
