Enthusiasts have ported the classic Doom to Telegram – it works on both smartphones and PCs

Developers from the Axiom Game Labs studio have proven that Telegram is suitable not only for communication, but also for spending time with classic video games – the team ported the original Doom from 1993 to the messenger.

Doom from Axiom Game Labs is launching on Telegram via the @agl_doom_bot bot. To start shooting demons on Mars, just click “Launch”, select a game from the list and open it.

The next port of Doom was made possible thanks to the Telegram Mini Apps (TMA) platform. It allows you to play the legendary shooter on any device with the messenger installed.

Enthusiasts have adapted the Doom gameplay for both smartphones and computers. To confirm their intentions, Axiom Game Labs published a 45-second video of mobile gameplay (attached below).

In today’s (October 16) publication, Axiom Game Labs reported that the Doom port for Telegram is popular – more than 44 thousand unique users joined it in less than 24 hours.

Axiom Game Labs positions itself as a developer of games for Telegram and does not intend to stop there: “If the classics of the 90s are launched in TMA, [just] imagine what incredible projects await you ahead.”

As for Doom, over the past 30 years since its release, the legendary shooter has been launched on everything – a calculator, a lawn mower, inside standard Windows applications, and even using several generative neural networks.
