With Microsoft and Nintendo raising prices for their flagship games to $80, gamers expected a similar move from other major publishers, but at least for now, Electronic Arts is in no hurry to support this initiative.

The company’s pricing strategy for its games was addressed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson and CFO Stuart Canfield during a call with investors.

According to Wilson, the company’s main goal is to make sure consumers are happy with the games they buy and feel satisfied with the balance between cost and value of the product.

Wilson emphasized that EA’s approach to game distribution has changed significantly over the past 10 years. The company now offers products at different price points, from free-to-play entertainment to premium titles.

«”Over time, we’ve realized that if we can balance quality and value [in games], our business is strong, sustainable and continues to grow,” Wilson said when asked about the possibility of EA increasing the cost of its games.

Canfield was more succinct: “In terms of the games that we’re releasing, there are no changes to our current [product] pricing strategy at this time.”

Earlier it became known that flagship exclusives of Nintendo Switch 2 (for example, Mario Kart World) will cost $80 already at the start of console sales in June, while the increase in price of Xbox games will not occur before the holiday period at the end of 2025.
