According to the results of the third quarter of the current fiscal year, Dragon Age: The VeilGuard and EA Sports FC 25 disappointed the leadership of Electronic Arts. The first allegedly not enough elements of games-services, and what is the excuse for the second?
The Video Games Chronicle portal noted that, as part of the presentation of the new quarterly report, EA CEO, Andrew Wilson) spoke about the failures of EA Sports FC 25.
According to Wilson, the football simulator started better than EA Sports FC 24 for a number of indicators (pre -orders, players involvement, monetization), demonstrating “high quality and stable launch”, but could not support the impulse.
The two main reasons for this were a decrease in the number of new players and a quick loss of interest in the project among buyers. In addition, many fans did not go to the current project, remaining in EA Sports FC 24.
Wilson explained the decline in the involvement of users with gameplay changes in EA Sports FC 25 – in mid -January, the simulator received a major update of the gameplay based on fans’ reviews.
The company already see a positive response among the community to the listed actions. Nevertheless, recent (over the past 30 days) reviews EA Sports FC 25 in Steam as they were “mixed”, so for now they remain.
Wilson emphasized that the problem was temporary, not a structural character, and will not prevent the 2025 financial year from becoming the second most successful for the franchise. It is worth noting that the EA Sports FC series is only two years old (before that it was called FIFA).
