As a reminder, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025 – an expanded edition with the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on, and new additional content included.
This additional content includes four armor sets and three skins for the ghostly steed Flow. FromSoftware’s Japanese X account also mentions some “new features.”
Among the additional skins is (see image below) clearly inspired by the design of the swordswoman Lucatiel from Dark Souls 2. In the screenshot you can also see her two-handed sword – it will probably be added to the game as well.
The listed content will not be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Publisher Bandai Namco confirmed on the official Elden Ring microblog that these innovations will appear on other platforms as a downloadable update.
As for Elden Ring’s new successes, according to the Tarnished Edition page on Bandai Namco’s website, the game’s combined sales across all target platforms have exceeded 28 million copies. Last June, the figure reached 25 million units.
Elden Ring was released on February 25, 2022 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. The game received high marks and the main award at The Game Awards 2022, and in June 2024 received the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on.
