Dracula’s abduction, interactive dreams and 35 quests: Warhorse co-founder reveals what was cut from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Released in February, the medieval open-world action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 from the Czech Warhorse Studios turned out to be a game of impressive scale, but it could have been even bigger if not for all the cut content.

Warhorse co-founder and executive producer Martin Klima spoke about what Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players were missing at the recent Comic-Con festival in Prague.

According to Klima, the developers cut about 15% of the Kuttenberg (Kutna Hora) map, 35 quests, including the kidnapping of Count Dracula or his relative, and the karma system from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

«”From Sigismund’s camp, you had to kidnap Vlad Dracula, his son or father – I don’t remember exactly. A member of their family who lived at that time and could meet Sigismund as the King of Hungary,” Klima recalls.

Players would subsequently attempt (unsuccessfully) to capture Sigismund and blackmail him via a hostage, while Jan Zizka poisoned a well and ambushed a large caravan: “We’ve cut it all out; all that’s left is the ambush.”

As for karma, the hero’s actions were supposed to influence his dreams: “If you stole and killed, these could be nightmares where you had to fight ghosts, demons and the souls of the dead.”

Removing these elements from the game has reduced the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by about six months. Klima also hinted that some of this content may appear in future story DLC.
