The Chinese publisher and developer NetEase Games of the shareware hero shooter Marvel Rivals presented the first full-fledged content season of the game – Eternal Night Falls.
In the story, New York is enveloped in darkness. Dracula (the same one) and Doctor Doom knock the moon out of orbit, plunging the metropolis into eternal night and sending an army of vampire creatures to the city.
While Doctor Strange is locked in the Astral Plane due to disturbances in the Time Flow, the Fantastic Four come to the rescue: Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing.
The announcement trailer for Eternal Night Falls shows off all four heroes, but at the start of the season, players will only be able to try out duelist Mister Fantastic and strategist Invisible Woman, as well as the new Doom Match mode.
The season is divided into two halves, between which not only heroes, but also cards will be divided. The characters themselves will be available for free, as opposed to premium alternate skins (like those shown in the trailer below).
Eternal night in Marvel Rivals will come with the launch of Eternal Night Falls on January 10 at 23:00 Moscow time. The start of the second half of the season is expected six or seven weeks after the start of the first.
Marvel Rivals was released on December 6 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game’s audience exceeded 20 million, and the peak online on Steam reached 480 thousand people. The project is an analogue of Overwatch, but with Marvel characters.
