Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Darkstalkers and others: Capcom asked fans which games to upgrade after Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Japanese publisher and developer Capcom, against the backdrop of the release of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, arranged a survey among players to gauge the interest of fans of its other franchises in similar extended re-releases.

Let us remind you that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a version of the 2006 zombie action game Dead Rising created from scratch on the RE Engine. However, apart from some improvements, the game offers a similar gameplay experience.

By Deluxe Remaster (extended re-release) Capcom understands a remaster with improved gameplay and graphics (including new models), and not a complete rethinking of the original project, as is the case with a remake.

The said survey, among other things, asks users to choose which extended re-releases of games from which Capcom franchise would be of potential interest to users, if any.

Participants can choose from Dino Crisis, Lost Planet, Devil May Cry, Power Stone (a 1999 fighting game from the Dreamcast), Onimusha, Darkstalkers, Okami and Resident Evil – the series has already received increased attention from Capcom lately.

This isn’t the first time Capcom has been inquiring about potential sequels and updated versions of its games. Previously in 2024, Dino Crisis won the vote for the franchise that fans most want to see continue.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was released on September 19 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Capcom priced the extended re-release at $50, selling full remakes for $60, and single remasters for $20-30.
