No sooner had Microsoft announced the June reveal of the satirical RPG The Outer Worlds 2 from Obsidian Entertainment than IGN staged the debut gameplay demonstration of the project.

An 11-minute gameplay trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 published by IGN shows the completion of a quest to infiltrate a research complex captured by cultists.
On the mission, the protagonist is accompanied by an ex-sectarian named Aza. The hero manages to participate in open combat and stealth, and also gets a scanner that allows him to distinguish invisible enemies and see through walls.
IGN reports that The Outer Worlds 2 will be a deeper RPG than The Outer Worlds, with Obsidian looking to its past work (Fallout: New Vegas) and immersive sims like Deus Ex and Dishonored for guidance.
They promise full-fledged stealth (with silent finishing moves, enemy corpses being detected), effective melee weapons, improved shooting (with an eye on Destiny), new movement options and throwables.
Slowing down time will allow you to shoot a flying grenade right out of the air
The Outer Worlds 2 takes place in a new star system with a different team. As an agent of the Earth Board, players must get to the bottom of the destructive rifts in the Arcadia colony and save the galaxy.
The Outer Worlds 2 is coming in 2025 to PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. Throughout April, IGN will be sharing exclusive content, including developer interviews and insights into key mechanics.
