CD Projekt Red is in no hurry to share details about the cyberpunk action RPG Orion (codename), but some details about the ambitious sequel Cyberpunk 2077 were learned from the latest job postings at the Polish studio.

So, the senior gameplay animator will be tasked with creating “eye-pleasing, believable first-person animations” — in other words, Orion will have the same look as Cyberpunk 2077.
In the fall of 2023, CDPR management admitted that they did not regret choosing a first-person camera for Cyberpunk 2077, but at that time they had not yet decided on the prospects for Orion.
In the past, CDPR has called the first-person view one of the game’s distinguishing features. However, the vacancy does not rule out the possibility of a sequel in which the player can look at their character from the outside.

According to the job description for Lead Combat Designer, CD Projekt Red is also aiming to create “the most realistic and responsive crowd system in video game history” in Orion.
Whether we’re talking about mechanics similar to those in Red Dead Redemption 2, where you can start a conversation with every NPC, or more complex and natural crowd reactions, it’s unclear from the job posting.
Orion is being led by CDPR’s North American branch, with offices in Boston and Vancouver. Production is still in its early stages, with over 60% of the studio’s staff currently working on The Witcher 4.
