Let us recall that when Counter-Strike 2 was released in the fall of 2023, it completely replaced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Before the transformation, the personal record of peak online CS:GO on Steam was 1,818,773 people.

As it became known, last weekend, on March 15, Counter-Strike 2 managed to surpass the maximum indicator of its predecessor. On that day, the shooter’s peak online reached 1,824,989 players.

The situation is noteworthy in that Counter-Strike 2 has not received any major updates recently, although on March 16 in Stockholm, the ESL Pro League Season 21 eSports tournament ended with a victory for the French team Team Vitality.

Meanwhile, the Steam platform itself has broken its personal record for the number of simultaneously online users. Following the achievement of 40 million people in early March, the figure has now surpassed the 41 million mark.

As it became known, on March 16 at about 17:00 Moscow time, the peak online Steam reached 41,210,260 people. According to SteamDB, the result was even slightly higher – 41,239,880 users.

Earlier, Valve summed up the results of 2024 for Steam: records of seasonal sales, an abundance of thematic promotions, growth in revenue from the release of new games, multiple improvements to the platform, and so on.
