Concord didn’t take off – Sony’s hero shooter failed compared to Deadlock on Steam

The recent release of team hero shooter Concord from Firewalk Studios (owned by Sony) passed on Steam almost without a trace, especially against the background of the first successes of the barely confirmed Deadlock from Valve.

As a reminder, Concord launched on August 23 (August 20 for Advanced Access pass holders) on PC and PS5. There are no statistics for the Sony console, but on PC the game is not at all popular.

According to SteamDB, Concord’s best result on Steam since release remains 697 concurrent players. The indicator was reached on the day of release, and the project did not surpass it during the debut weekend.

The result of the release version of Concord turned out to be noticeably worse than the July open beta (2.3 thousand people) and pales in comparison with the successes of Deadlock, a hero shooter from Valve, which at this stage is available to play only by invitation.

According to SteamDB, on the night of August 26, the Deadlock alpha version recorded 89,203 concurrent players – that’s 127 times more than Concord was able to attract.

Reviews for Concord on Steam are “generally positive”, but its rating has dropped from 88% to 71% since release. Players praise the gameplay, graphics and optimization, but criticize the cost, character design and the small amount of content.

Concord offers to assemble a group of space criminals who perform dangerous missions and compete with other squads of free shooters. A PSN account is required to play on PC.
