CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher IV – Ciri will be the main character

Developers CD Projekt Red have unveiled the debut trailer for The Witcher IV, the highly anticipated open-world fantasy RPG previously codenamed Polaris. The premiere took place as part of The Game Awards 2024.

The Witcher IV will be the first game in a new trilogy. The main character will be the matured Ciri. The description below the YouTube video states that she will go on her “own journey to become a professional monster slayer.”

In the cinematic trailer, the girl successfully completes another contract for a monster terrorizing the village. The ending of the video turned out to be extremely dramatic – in the spirit of the entire series.

Let us remember that the development of The Witcher IV started several years ago. In the second half of 2024, CD Projekt Red moved to the stage of full production of the project. Currently, 400 of the studio’s 650 employees are working on it.
