Recall that Forgotlings was introduced in the summer of 2023 as a spiritual successor to Forgotton Anne (now a sequel) and was expected in 2024. Development was delayed, but after five years of production, the game is almost ready for release.
As it became known, Forgotlings will go on sale on June 12 for Steam, and soon after will appear on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch. The announcement was accompanied by a rich gameplay trailer.
Forgotlings takes place in the Forgotten Lands, where lost things gain consciousness and a unique personality – these creatures are called forgetters (actually, forgotlings).
Players take on the role of a charismatic mannequin named Fig (with a face on his stomach) as he unites five tribes in a fractured world threatened by the Beast and finds his place in a life where memories are power.
They promise a breathtaking semi-open world, a deep story with consequences for decisions, cinematic action and stealth. No knowledge of Forgotton Anne is required for the new game.
Forgotlings also features Studio Ghibli anime-style graphics and thousands of hand-drawn animations, a haunting soundtrack, and full voice acting (English only). A demo is also available on Steam.
