Black Myth: Wukong became the best game of the year according to Steam users – results of The 2024 Steam Awards

As promised, on December 31 at 21:00 Moscow time, following the end of voting for the finalists of the Steam Awards 2024 (The 2024 Steam Awards), its laureates became known. The nominees and winners were determined by the players themselves.

The best game of 2024 according to Steam users, without much intrigue, turned out to be the Chinese action movie Black Myth: Wukong from developers from the Game Science studio. At home, the project literally has nationwide support.

In accordance with the updated nomination rules, Black Myth: Wukong was also able to take home awards in two more categories – “Best Game That You Can’t Give” and “Best Game with an Outstanding Story.”

The cooperative action thriller Helldivers 2 had no equal in the “Make a friend in the game” category, and the other contenders for the title of game of the year were left without awards – these are Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Balatro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

The game with the “outstanding visual style” was the remake of Silent Hill 2, and the action role-playing game Elden Ring, which received a large-scale expansion Shadow of the Erdtree in 2024, turned out to be invincible in the “Favorite Child” category.
