Let us remind you that the events of Borderlands 4 will unfold on the new planet of Kairos, ruled by the despotic Guardian of Time. Players will have to light the fire of resistance and fight the ruthless tyrant, destroying hordes of enemies along the way.

The presentation kicked off with an explosive 90-minute gameplay trailer for Borderlands 4 (embedded below), showing off a variety of weapons and enemies, co-op chaos, and colorful locations.

The 20-minute presentation (the full recording is embedded below) showed a mission to clear out a secret facility deep in the mountains, featuring two of the four new Vault Hunters – the siren Vex and the exo-soldier Rafa.

Borderlands 4 will feature new movement options (including a grappling hook), dynamic weather and events, an improved lobby system, individual difficulty settings for each participant in the session, and much more.

They promise billions of weapons from eight manufacturers (including three new ones), a system of licensed spare parts, crossplay between all platforms, local co-op for two (and online for four).

Borderlands 4 will be released on September 12, not September 23, on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X, S, and Switch 2. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford assures that the game was not postponed for GTA VI or “any other product.” The shooter will be shown again in June.
