The “Around-Builds Metro 2033|Last Light|Exodus” community, which studies the history and various builds of games in the Metro series from the studio 4A Games, shared another portion of supposedly insider details of the next part on Telegram.
It was previously reported that the events of the new Metro will unfold in Moscow, Artyom will not be the hero, the game will have large levels (not an open world), and the development team has been noticeably updated – art director Sergei Karmalsky was mentioned among the veterans.
According to data miners, the author of the book universe, Dmitry Glukhovsky, is again responsible for the plot, Evgeniy Fedorets is the creative director (at 4A since 2008), and Artem Litvinenko (animator for Metro Exodus) is in charge of weapon animations.
The story of the new Metro supposedly begins on the surface and unfolds in the fall. The game will not be entirely corridor-based – one of the levels within the city is comparable in size to “Caspian” from Exodus.
It is also reported that the next Metro will offer more weapons than the last part, some “big and interesting” side quests and better graphics than S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (according to the author of the leak), on the 4A Engine.
4A Games confirmed the next Metro back in November 2020, and production was allegedly restarted in 2022. The official announcement of the game, according to Around Builds Metro 2033|Last Light|Exodus, is expected in 2025.
It was previously confirmed that 4A Games is working on two AAA games – in addition to Metro, the studio is allegedly again taking up the space shooter Eolla (it returned to active development at the end of 2023).
