The creators of Mortal Kombat 1 from NetherRealm Studios burst out with news at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 festival: the plot addition Khaos Reigns, a paid set of Kombat Pack 2 fighters and the return of animality.
Khaos Reigns will continue the plot of Mortal Kombat 1: the fire god Liu Kang must rally his allies to challenge the ruthless titan Havik, who came from an alternate universe and threatens to plunge the worlds into chaos.
Khaos Reigns will go on sale on September 24th for $50 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and $40 on Switch. Pre-order includes the following skins: Scorpion (Wedding), Empress Mileena, Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
The pre-order also includes Kombat Pack 2 – unlike the first set, you won’t be able to buy it separately (only together with the add-on). The contents of the kit were correctly predicted by the Interloko data miner a month ago.
Cyborg Cyrax, ninja Sektor and the ghost Noob Saibot will be available at the release of Khaos Reigns, while the maniac Ghostface from the Scream films, Conan the Barbarian and Terminator T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day have no release dates yet.
As for the return of animalities, this type of fatality debuted 29 years ago in Mortal Kombat 3. An update with this feature will be released simultaneously with Khaos Reigns and will be free, as will a new look for Scorpion in the style of the 1995 film.
As one might assume, as part of this finishing move, the character turns into an animal. Mortal Kombat 1 will allow you to tear enemies apart and swallow them alive in the form of a praying mantis, a blowfish, a hyena, a hippopotamus, a gorilla, and so on.
