The hour and a half event (the full recording is available at this link) included the demonstration of several intro videos from the game, introducing a number of minor characters:

  • The captain of the mobile base “Magellan” with the appearance of director George Miller is called Tarman;
  • German director Fatih Akın gave the appearance of a revived doll to Dollman, a former medium who had lost his human form;
  • Scientist Hartman with the appearance of director Nicolas Winding Refn got new glasses and an exoskeleton in the sequel.

The aged Sam Bridges and the mysterious Fragile, familiar from the original Death Stranding, are still played in the second part by Norman Reedus and Lea Seydoux.

In addition to the regular photo mode, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will feature special photo sessions in which the player will be able to photograph minor characters. Such episodes will have an impact on the plot.

The show also featured a dance and musical number performed by Daichi Miura and the Dollman group, which can be seen in the protagonist’s personal cabin when certain actions are performed.

As for the release date, it will be announced in 2025. According to game designer Hideo Kojima, various factors may affect the release timing, but development is moving towards its intended goal.

«Production is not finished yet, but I am full of confidence. “[Death Stranding 2: On The Beach] turns out to be an even stranger game than the first,” Kojima concluded at the presentation.
