AMD has released a driver with support for Marvel Rivals, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and other new games

AMD has released a new graphics driver package, Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.12.1 WHQL. It adds support for Marvel Rivals, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Slitterhead, Delta Force and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

The new driver expands support for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2), which allows owners of supported hardware to develop products using the AMD ROCm software environment within the Windows operating system environment on Radeon graphics cards, eliminating the need to configure a dual boot OS. Specifically, WSL 2 now supports running on ONNX Runtime, TensorFlow, and Triton Beta.

AMD has expanded support for the HYPR-RX software suite (consisting of the FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaler and Radeon Anti-Lag 2 to reduce latency) for the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, MechWarrior 5: Clans and Red Dead Redemption 2. The company has also added support for new Vulkan extensions (VK_EXT_fragment_shader_interlock and VK_KHR_compute_shader_derivatives).

List of fixed issues:

• Fixed a slow performance issue observed when using llama.cpp that could also affect Ollama and LM Studio.
• Fixed texture artifacts in The Crew Motorfest;
• Fixed a system crash when launching SteamVR for the first time using Valve Index at 144 Hz on Radeon RX 6000 series video cards;
• Fixed occasional application freezes when loading save files in Monster Hunter: World;
• Fixed occasional application crashes on Radeon RX 5000 and higher graphics cards in Fortnite;
• Fixed an issue with the H.264 encoder not working correctly in OBS Studio when using Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting.

• In Marvel Rivals, periodic picture jerks are possible when AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 frame generation is enabled. A temporary solution is to disable AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 frame generation in the game settings;
• After using the AMD Cleanup Utility for Windows, when installing a new driver on systems with Ryzen 7000 processors and Radeon video cards, the AMD Bug Report Tool application may launch;
• HEVC encoding may not work correctly when using Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting in OBS Studio.
