Microsoft’s standard practice is not to distribute the latest feature updates to all compatible computers at the same time. Windows 11 23H2, the distribution of which began last fall, was no exception. The said update was rolled out gradually in several stages, and this week Microsoft announced that it is now available to all users.

Since the stable version of Windows 11 23H2 is now available to everyone, users of compatible devices can download the update if they have not already done so for some reason. To do this, simply open the Settings app, go to Windows Update, and check for available updates. Windows 11 23H2 has the same minimum system requirements as previous versions of the OS, so there should be no compatibility issues after installation.

Every version of Windows has a lifecycle, and Windows 11 22H2 is no exception to this rule. Support for Windows 11 22H2 will end on October 8, 2024, after which devices running this version of the OS will no longer receive updates, including security patches. This will make your computer more vulnerable to various threats, so Microsoft recommends not delaying the update and switching to Windows 11 23H2 or a later version of the software platform.
