Dyson, known for its vacuum cleaners and hair care devices, continues to experiment in the field of audio technology. Previously, the company combined headphones and an air purifying mask in one Zone device, and now it has introduced something more traditional – OnTrac noise-canceling over-ear headphones with customization options.

The Dyson OnTrac is equipped with 40mm neodymium speakers that have an impedance of 16 ohms and support a frequency range of 5Hz to 21kHz. The same range is claimed by Dyson Zone, although most manufacturers limit it to a range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. OnTrac has an active noise reduction system: eight microphones measure external noise 384,000 times per second; Dyson claims the system can handle noise up to 40dB. This time the manufacturer limited itself to just headphones – there is no mask or air supply system here.

Dyson offered four OnTrac finishes: aluminum, black nickel, copper and vermilion-dyed ceramic. Interchangeable ear pads and earcup covers are also available, both available in seven different colors. The ear pads and pads sell for $49.99 per set. Even without the air filter, the OnTracs are still a Dyson product, so the headphones are priced at a hefty $499.99, putting them on par with cutting-edge ANC models.
