Japanese mobile operator Softbank has, in fact, officially introduced the foldable smartphone Motorola Razr 50s, having started accepting orders for this device. The new product should go on sale on September 27. The design of the Razr 50s, its main characteristics and differences from the regular Motorola Razr 50 have been revealed.
The smartphone is built on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor and is equipped with a 6.9-inch AMOLED main display with a resolution of 2640 × 1080 pixels. There is also a 3.6-inch external screen with a resolution of 1056 × 1066 pixels. The phone has 8 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 256 GB. Experts believe that this is the only configuration option, while the Razr 50 has a version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Motorola Razr 50s received a battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh. The phone is IPX8 certified for splash resistance. The device runs Android 14 OS out of the box. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels and is complemented by a secondary camera with a resolution of 32 megapixels, while the second wide-angle camera on the “regular” Motorola Razr 50 has a resolution of 13 megapixels. There is no clarity yet about the optics of the second camera in the Razr 50s.
Judging by the images, the design of the new product, except for the color, is no different from the Motorola Razr 50. The Razr 50s comes in Koala Gray, Sand Cream and Spritz Orange colors. The dimensions of the phone correspond to the “big brother” to the nearest millimeter: 171 × 74 × 7.3 mm when opened and 88 × 74 × 15.9 mm when folded. The new product weighs exactly the same as the Razr 50 – 188 grams.
