As a reminder, Shattered Space will send players to the city of Dazra on the planet Va’ruun’kai to uncover the secrets of the House of Va’ruun – a religious cult that worships the Great Serpent – and confront a mysterious cosmic threat.

Due to an unsuccessful experiment by the House of Va’ruun with gravitational technology, the cosmos literally split – Dazra found himself inside gravitational vortices – and monsters from other dimensions entered reality.

The entire plot of Shattered Space takes place within one planet

According to the developers, one of the main themes of Starfield is humanity’s desire for knowledge, while Shattered Space shows the consequences if such a search goes too far.

What else was said at the presentation:

  • The player arrives on Va’ruun’kai several weeks after the incident – there is a crater in the middle of the city, people are still looking for missing relatives, there are not enough resources;
  • The leader of the House of Va’ruun has disappeared along with ordinary people, and the main fortress of the cult is surrounded by a mysterious force field;
  • In the absence of a leader, factions within House Va’ruun fight among themselves for power;
  • On the planet, players will have to face not only otherworldly monsters, but also Cosmites who have captured abandoned locations, pirates of the Blood Fleet and cultists of the House of Va’ruun;
  • The combat system in Starfield focused on firefights, while in Shattered Space the developers tried to reduce the distance between the player and opponents;
  • During the adventure, users will be able to determine the future fate of House Va’ruun, which will affect the Mastered Systems.

The new presentation of Shattered Space lasted for nine and a half minutes, most of which the developers speak in the background of gameplay. They promise a solid plot, more than 500 man-made locations and elements of cosmic horror.

Starfield: Shattered Space will be released on September 30 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S. The cost will be $30, but owners of the premium and collector’s editions of the game will receive the expansion for free.
