In addition to the Redmi 14C smartphone presented in August, the Chinese manufacturer announced a model with the “R” index. The Redmi 14R boasts the same 6.88-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 600 cd/m² peak brightness and support for wet-hand control.
The new Redmi 14R is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage and a dedicated slot for microSD cards up to 1 TB. On the back panel there is a 13-megapixel main camera and another one of unknown purpose and parameters; The cutout on the screen houses a 5-megapixel camera for self-portraits and video calling.
The software platform is HyperOS based on Android 14. The 5160 mAh battery supports 18 W charging. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi 14R comes in four colors with four memory configurations: 4/128, 6/128, 8/128 and 8/256 GB and is priced at 1099 yuan ($155), 1499 yuan ($210), 1699 yuan ($240) and 1899 yuan ( $265) respectively. In China, the smartphone will be sold through the Xiaomi website; there is no information about its release in other countries yet.
