Asus has introduced a series of ROG Strix Platinum power supplies. It includes models with a power of 850, 1000 and 1200 W. All new products comply with the ATX 3.1 power standard.

The presented ROG Strix Platinum power supplies use the patented GPU-First intelligent voltage stabilizer (IVS) technology. According to Asus, it improves the stability of power transfer to the graphics card by 45% during intense gaming sessions.

Another feature of the new products is the use of gallium nitride (GaN) MOSFETs, which improve energy efficiency by reducing energy loss and providing 30% better optimized power delivery compared to previous generations of PSUs. In addition, the small size of GaN transistors allowed for a simplified internal layout of the power supplies, which provided more space for better heat dissipation.

Double-row ball bearings on the fans of ROG Strix Platinum power supplies have a claimed service life of up to 80,000 hours. When the load is below 40%, the power supply fan does not rotate. Asus notes that even with the fan active, the power supply operates very quietly – the ROG Strix Platinum 1000 W power supply model has a fan noise level of less than 20 dBA. Thanks to their quiet operation, the new products received the A+ Cybenetics Lambda certificate.

The presented power supplies received 80 Plus Platinum energy efficiency certificates. Their efficiency at any load level is more than 89%. The new products are also equipped with high-quality Japanese capacitors that can last twice as long as standard capacitors.

The new products have a completely modular cable design. All models received one 12+4-pin power connector for the GPU. The manufacturer also claims that the PSU has overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), overpower protection (OPP), short circuit protection (SCP), undervoltage protection (UVP) and overheat protection (OTP).

ROG Strix Platinum power supplies come with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
