This week, Huawei introduced the world’s first smartphone, Mate XT, with a three-section flexible display. The unique device demonstrates the innovative capabilities of Huawei, but also has a high price tag – the basic version of the phone is priced at 19,999 yuan or $2809. Repairing it won’t be cheap either.

Repairing the Huawei Mate XT screen will cost its owner 7,999 yuan or $1,123, according to the manufacturer’s official price list. You can choose to subscribe to a limited number of repair services for 6,999 yuan ($983) or pay upfront 3,499 yuan ($561) for screen replacement within the first year of purchasing the phone. If you need to replace the motherboard, you will have to pay 9099 yuan ($1278) for this, and the battery will cost 499 yuan ($70).

The back cover with camera lenses costs 1379 yuan ($193), and the other two cost 399 yuan ($56). The telephoto lens is priced at 578 yuan ($81), the selfie camera is priced at 379 yuan ($53), the main rear camera is priced at 759 yuan ($106), and the wide-angle camera is priced at 269 yuan ($37).

Therefore, owners of Huawei Mate XT are strongly advised to handle it with care and ensure that nothing happens to its screen or motherboard. Otherwise, the repair alone will cost more than most modern phones.
