Publisher Focus Entertainment and developers from Saber Interactive reported on the first successes of the third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 after the official release.
As it became known, the day after the full release, the total audience of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S reached 2 million people.
Unlike many other projects these days, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is not included in any subscription at the time of release, so in this case sales will be equal to the announced number of players.
For comparison, the original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine in 2011 reached 1.2 million copies shipped only two months after release, so the sequel is already ahead of the first part in terms of sales.
«We are filled with pride and gratitude for this incredible achievement. It was only possible because of you, the players, and all the love and support you sent us!” — the creators shared.
According to the developers, the first patch is already close (at the release they talked about this week) and will include support for ultra-wide monitors, private PvE lobbies and a location for sparring.
The official release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 took place on September 9. Peak online on Steam reached 225 thousand people, which made the project a record holder among Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 games on the platform.
