At WWDC 2024 this year, Apple announced features powered by artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence. Although iOS 18 will be unveiled tomorrow at Apple’s It’s Glowtime event, many AI features, such as the unique Genmoji emoji generator, will not be available in this version of the operating system.

According to Bloomberg, Apple will delay the rollout of many AI features until the iOS 18.2 update is released. These features include the Image Playground tool for generating images based on text descriptions and Genmoji for creating unique emoji based on text prompts. In beta versions of the OS for developers, they will become available earlier, but ordinary users will probably have to wait until December.

Thus, at the launch of iOS 18, users will have access to the Photo Clean Up feature and several tools for interacting with text. At the same time, the widely publicized integration of ChatGPT with the Siri voice assistant will not appear until 2025.

It is noted that iPhone owners in the European Union will have to wait longer than others for the appearance of Apple Intelligence functions. In June this year, Apple announced that it would not roll out AI features on iPhones in the region due to the need to comply with the Digital Markets Act. However, it is possible that Apple Intelligence tools will eventually be available worldwide.
