In October, during a corporate event, Qualcomm is expected to announce the new flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Some information about it has already become known: the priority for the chip will be not performance, but efficiency, but the built-in artificial intelligence accelerator will remain an important component, says product technical data sheet published by the Smartprix resource.

The chip will be available in two versions: the standard SM8750 and the high-performance SM8750P. Qualcomm will stick to the established naming scheme and is unlikely to try anything new. The standard version of the processor will be present in flagship smartphones from manufacturers such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Honor and Asus, while the high-performance variant will likely be reserved for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be produced using TSMC’s 3nm process technology, which means reduced power consumption with high performance. The chip is expected to feature Oryon cores, which Qualcomm used in laptop processors. The company will also continue to advance in the field of AI – the chip will receive an accelerator and a Qualcomm Sensing Hub component, which will help expand AI functions on the device. The advanced eNPU neural processor will be able to work with a constantly active microphone and sensors.

The chip will have a 2+6 core configuration: two performance cores clocked at 4.0 GHz and six efficient cores at 2.8 GHz. On board will also be an Adreno 830 GPU, a Qualcomm Spectra camera image processor and a Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 modem. The first to receive the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be the Xiaomi 15 series of flagship phones.
