A power outage caused by a natural disaster in northern Taiwan in the first half of this week affected the work of local memory chip manufacturer Nanya Technology. The enterprise will be able to return to full operation within two or three days; the estimated damage from the incident is estimated at $9.3 to $15.5 million.

Not all Nanya production lines are equipped with backup power sources; only the most critical areas have such protection.
The Micron Technology enterprise, which is located in the same area of the island, was not affected by the power supply incident. This manufacturer reported only a short-term voltage drop at this enterprise; equipment operation did not stop as a result.
