Let’s remember that since 1953, the Hugo Awards have honored works in the genre of science fiction and (less often) fantasy. Considered the highest honor in the two mentioned fields.

The first and until recently last game winner of the Hugo Award was Hades, which received the trophy in 2021. At the 2024 Hugo Awards, the Best Game or Interactive Work category returned and found its winner on August 11th.

Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Alan Wake 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Chants of Sennaar and Dredge competed for victory in the 2024 Hugo Awards, but only one could be victorious – it turned out to be the Larian project .

The 2024 Hugo Awards segment dedicated to the category “Best Game or Interactive Work” can be viewed at this link, and a list of all award nominees and winners is provided on its official website.

Ahead of the 2024 Hugo Awards, Larian’s fantasy RPG became the first game to be voted best by five leading awards: Game Developers Choice Awards, The Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, DICE Awards and BAFTA Games Awards.
