OnePlus held a Summer Lunch Event in Italy where it introduced several new products. Together with the Pad 2 tablet, the mid-price smartphone Nord 4 was presented. The new product is assembled in an all-metal case with an unusual design, called Nordtones.
The device is based on a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor (one Cortex-X4 core with a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of up to 2.6 GHz and three Cortex-A520 cores with a frequency of up to 1.9 GHz) . The smartphone offers 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The device has a 6.74-inch Super Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1240 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a peak brightness of 2150 cd/m2 and support for HDR10+. On the front side of the smartphone there is a 16-megapixel camera with the ability to shoot video in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
The rear camera unit of the device consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor measuring 1/1.95 inches with optical and digital stabilization and f/1.8 optics, as well as an 8-megapixel sensor measuring 1/4.0 inches with f/2.2 optics for wide-angle shooting. The main camera claims to support video recording in 4K at 60 frames per second, as well as high-speed shooting in 1080p at 120 frames per second.
The smartphone is powered by a 5500 mAh battery with support for 100 W fast charging. The smartphone is charged to 100% in less than 30 minutes. However, the charger itself will have to be purchased separately, since it is not included with the smartphone. The manufacturer claims that the battery will retain 80% of its capacity after 1600 full charge cycles.
OnePlus Nord 4 will be available in Mercurial Silver, Oasis Green and Obsidian Midnight colors. The smartphone claims to support AI functions AI Audio Summary, AI Note Summar and AI Linkboost (for quick reconnection to a wireless network). The new product also received the AI Groupfie function, which automatically edits people’s eyes in group photos so that none of them end up with their eyes closed in the picture because they blinked at the moment of shooting.
The smartphone runs Android 14 with the proprietary Oxygen OS 14.1 shell. OnePlus promises four OS updates and six years of security updates for the smartphone. In other words, the device will be supported until 2030.
