AAEON has announced the Pico-MTU4 single board computer. Today, it is claimed to be the most compact device in its class, built on the Intel Core Ultra (Meteor Lake) platform. The new product is suitable for creating industrial robotic systems, edge devices, equipment with AI functions, etc.
The board corresponds to the Pico-ITX standard size: dimensions are 100×72 mm. Modifications are available with various processors – up to Core Ultra 7 165U with 12 cores (2P+10E; 14 threads; up to 4.9 GHz; 15 W). The chip includes Intel Graphics Xe and Intel AI Boost NPU to speed up AI operations.
Up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory is supported. A SATA-3 port and an M.2 2280 M-Key connector (PCIe 4.0 x4 / SATA) are available for connecting drives. The M.2 2230 E-Key slot (PCIe 4.0 x1 / USB 2.0) can accommodate a Wi-Fi 6 adapter. The equipment includes Intel I226 2.5GbE and Intel I219 1GbE network controllers. The TPM 2.0 module is responsible for security. The set of connectors includes two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, two RJ-45 jacks for network cables, an HDMI 1.4 port (3840×2160 pixels; 30 Hz). In addition, eDP1.4, USB 2.0 (×2), GPIO, COM (two RS232/422/485 serial ports) interfaces are supported.
The Pico-MTU4 single board computer is compatible with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04.2. The operating temperature range extends from -20 to +70 °C. Power (12V) is supplied through the Phoenix connector. AAEON offers various accessories for the new product, including connecting cables and an active cooler. The latter is equipped with a fan with an impeller rotation speed of 5200 rpm. The dimensions of the cooler are 100x72x14 mm.
