Last night, large-scale failures were recorded in the work of VKontakte communications and media services. This is evidenced by numerous complaints from users of the social network and related platforms. At present, the services have been restored and are functioning normally.

According to the Downdetector online system for monitoring the availability of websites and applications, the peak of user requests occurred at 03:00 Moscow time. At that time, the service recorded about 12.5 thousand requests. Around 07:25 Moscow time, the number of complaints from users decreased to 254. The most frequently reported problems were with the VKontakte resource (72%), problems with authorization in the social network’s mobile application (12%), and problems with interaction with the personal account (4%).

It is noted that the largest number of requests for failures in the work of VKontakte services came from Novosibirsk (9%) and the Moscow region (7%), but in general, problems were observed throughout the country. At the moment, it is unknown what exactly caused the failures in the work of VKontakte.

Earlier this week, a major failure was recorded in the Yandex Music, Yandex Go, and Yandex Pro services. At the time, Roskomnadzor attributed the problem to equipment failures in Yandex’s internal infrastructure.
