In the fall of 2022, Elon Musk acquired Twitter, and the following summer he renamed the social network X. The platform’s bird logo was removed from the social network’s building as unnecessary, and now the giant object is up for auction – it is expected to fetch $40,000.

The giant logo that adorned the company’s headquarters in San Francisco has become one of the most iconic symbols of the social network, so the price tag for it promises to be impressive. At the time of writing, the last bid was $21,664, but according to auction house RR Auction, the logo could go for $40,000.

The buyer will not only have to pay for the purchase itself, but also bear the cost of transporting the object from the warehouse in San Francisco, where the object is currently located. This is no easy task: the bird measures 145 x 105 inches (368 x 267 cm) and weighs 254 kg. When the logo was removed from the building, a crane and a team of workers were required.

This isn’t the first “Larry,” as Twitter’s logo is known, to go up for auction: Most of the old brand’s logos went under the hammer in 2023. One of the large forms in the office sold for $100,000. Another giant logo on the headquarters building was also auctioned off, but the price was not disclosed.
