Earlier this week, Swedish developer Hazelight Studios (It Takes Two, A Way Out) reported that their co-op adventure Split Fiction had sold a million copies, and just a few days later they’re celebrating another success.

Let us recall that Split Fiction reached its first million within 48 hours of its official release, while Hazelight Studios’ most successful game to date, It Takes Two (23 million), took almost a month to reach this result.
As it became known, just a week after its release, the total sales of Split Fiction on all target platforms reached 2 million copies. It Takes Two’s path to this peak took more than two and a half months.
It’s worth noting that playing Split Fiction co-op only requires one purchased copy per two players, so the game’s actual audience is actually closer to 4 million people.
«Holy shit, we are so blown away! It’s just amazing… Thanks to all our new and old fans – we are so thrilled with how much you love our game!” – the developers of Split Fiction shared.
Split Fiction previously delighted critics and received over 20,000 “extremely positive” reviews (98%) on Steam. The game’s peak online on the service exceeded 259,000 people, which became a record for premium games from Electronic Arts.
Split Fiction was released on March 6 on PC (Steam, EGS, EA App), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. According to the plot, antipodean writers Mio and Zoya find themselves locked in their own stories – to get out, the heroines will have to work together.
