The latest patch for Windows 11 24H2 turned out to be extremely unstable and full of glitches. Users are reporting massive freezes during installation, BSoD (Blue Screen of Death), and the inability to boot the system. No fixes have been released yet.

Just a couple of days ago, Microsoft released the KB5053598 update for Windows 11 24H2, which includes several important security fixes. This is a mandatory update that is installed on users’ computers automatically. However, as PCWorld writes with reference to Windows Latest, the update seems to have become a real nightmare for many users.
One of the main problems is that the update may not install at all. Users encounter errors 0x800f0993, 0x800F081F, 0x80070032 and 0xC004F211. In some cases, the process hangs at 6%, 20% or 38%, and sometimes it reaches 98–99%, after which the system restarts, gives an error and rolls back the update with a message that “something went wrong”.
But even if the installation is successful, users may encounter a blue screen of death, problems with booting the system, or remote desktop (RDP) failures that drop the connection after a few minutes of connection.
Microsoft has not yet acknowledged these issues or offered a solution. There are currently no known workarounds, so users who encounter errors are advised to roll back the system via Windows Update, which is the only available option for now.
It should be noted that the situation is also unpleasant because the update closes a number of critical vulnerabilities, including the CVE-2025-24983 exploit, which allows attackers to escalate privileges in the system and poses a serious threat to the security of user data.
