Toyota has unveiled the FT-Me concept, an ultra-compact electric vehicle. It has just two seats, takes up half a parking space, and features a design that helps the driver navigate busy city traffic.

Toyota realized that the company needed to adapt to the specifics of urban conditions, where compact vehicles are the most convenient. The Toyota FT-Me is 2.5 m long, weighs 425 kg, and has a top speed of 45 km/h. According to French regulations, the car meets the Voiture Sans Permis class, meaning that it can be driven without a driver’s license from the age of 14. The battery provides the Toyota FT-Me with a range of 100 km, and a solar panel on the roof can increase this figure by another 30 km if the car stands in the sun’s rays all day.
The passenger seat is removable – you can put a folding wheelchair or bicycle in the cabin instead; for people with disabilities, it is possible to switch to fully manual control. With the passenger seat removed, a box up to 1.6 m long can be loaded through the trunk door. A 360° view helps to maneuver freely in the city traffic. The small car will be useful in courier service or in car rental service. Technical characteristics of the Toyota FT-Me are not specified, as well as the estimated cost of the model, if, of course, it goes into mass production.
