As it became known, in the first 48 hours from the official release, which took place on March 6, the total sales of Split Fiction worldwide exceeded 1 million copies. The announcement was accompanied by a thematic illustration.

By comparison, Hazelight Studios’ most successful game to date, It Takes Two (23 million copies sold), only reached its first million copies almost a month after its release.

«”The love you’ve shown our game is amazing! We at Hazelight are all over the moon – we can’t stop watching your amazing reactions!” – shared the developers of Split Fiction.

Split Fiction only requires one copy to play through together, putting the game’s audience close to 2 million people

Previously, Split Fiction received more than 13 thousand “extremely positive” reviews on Steam, based on which the game’s user rating on the service is 98%. Critics were also delighted with the project.

Meanwhile, last weekend, Split Fiction’s peak online on Steam exceeded 259 thousand people, which became a record for premium games of Electronic Arts – the previous best result was the shooter Battlefield V (116 thousand).

Split Fiction is out now on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The plot follows antipodean writers Mio and Zoe as they find themselves locked in their own stories. To escape, the heroines will have to work together.
